More Details on the New Vedge Project, V Street

The team behind Vedge announced in October their plans for a new concept for Rittenhouse, but now there are finally some more details to report. Chef and co-owner Rich Landau announced today that the new spot at 126 S. 19th Street will be called V Street, and carries the tagline "a street food bar."

The focus will be on vegan small plates inspired by global street food with "adventurous, bold,...

Responses are related in no particular order.

To kick things off, we asked our expert panel for their restaurant standbys in...

While their big Los Angeles plans may have fallen through, that didn't stop the Vedge crew from continuing their plans for world domination. It's just starting a little closer to home, more specifically, at 126 S. 19th Street in Rittenhouse Square. The space is much, much smaller than Vedge, though, as Landau told Eater that it's only...

I'm not a vegetarian but Vedge opens a vegetable food vista that I never knew existed. I enjoyed vegetables that I would tell you I don't like otherwise. Even the drinks were fantastic. How do they do it? Not like mom's vegetables.

They get great ingredients (where do they source such a large, sweet carrot?) and cook them imaginatively. Everything is just delicious. Highlights included the carrot, seitan, maitake mushroom, stuffed avocado, ramps, and brussels sprouts. And if feels good knowing that you are eating healthy non-processed food. The service was not as warm and friendly this past time, but that will not stop us...

Tips about this business (7) view all

Located underneath Tavern on Camac, owned by the same people and cooked for by the same chef, this restau-bar nevertheless tries to forge its own identity separate from its better-known older sibling. The menu here is far more extensive, offering full meat, poultry and fish entrees; the page-long wine list skews more haughty; and the clientele is somewhat more heterogeneous than in the longstanding gay bar above. Although the disco-esque, under-terra cave positions itself as the full restaurant to the food-challenged Tavern, such branding can be hard to discern when one walks in to find the...
