Salmon Bay was originally named by pioneers William Bell and the Denny brothers. At that time, the bay area was inhabited by the Shilshole Indians. Salmon Bay Park itself was named after a former tidal flat, which is now part of the Washington Ship Canal. The Park was deeded to the City in 1890, and annexed to the rest of the city along with Ballard in 1907.

This is in the same strip mall as some excellent restaurants, but, um...this one deviates from the norm. Doesn't look like food's really the main attraction, ya know? Ostensibly it is, along with the wine, but the bordello aura and shag carpeting seems just a little too on the nose. And when the doorman tries to get you in by urging, "it's just a regular bar, really!" well, we have our suspicions.
