Concentrating on an American and Continental fare, this is an upscale facility. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and dress casual.

Part of the Lawry's Prime Rib family, the Tam has been an L.A. institution since 1922, a remarkable achievement in a city where dining trends change as fast as hemlines. The dining rooms are just what you'd expect: lots of dark wood, beamed ceilings, fireplaces and loads of Scottish memorabilia (e.g. family crests, flags, berets) lining the walls. Sturdy wooden tables are paired with... more

In Short With its storybook stylings, this faux Tudor cottage looks like a Disney film come to life, which is probably why Walt himself dined here daily during the '30s. Once inside, the theme continues within a maze of rooms with ceiling-hung royal banners and Highlander bric-a-brac on the walls. British-inspired fare includes Toad in the Hole, a puffy Yorkshire pudding filled with... more

This is a great spot just to drop in and enjoy the sandwich bar and a drink. It is cozy and unpretentious in the bar. Haven't tried the dining room, it is pricy. But they treat you well in the bar.

Very underwhelmed.
Went for an anniversary dinner and will not go back.
Had a reservation on a quiet night, many open tables, waited over 20 minutes, complained and got attitude from the hostess.
No apology for the wait.
Finally, taken to a terrible table and had to insist on another table.
Food was only OK, not worth what they charged.
Left a complaint on their website, no one got back to me.... more

I have been going to the Tam O'Shanter for a holiday meal for as long as I can remember. During the holidays they have Dickens dressed carolers roaming throughout the place singing for tables. Its a great place for a large gathering or a quiet romantic meal. The food is good, not great but still very good. It is a bit expensive for the quality but worth it for the experience.
