I've been to Takahachi Tribeca at least a dozen times now and have never been unhappy about anything once. OK, so its like being called the tallest midget to be called best sushi downtown, but this place is good- it's nobu good in fish freshness and the staff are the most responsive and friendly of any quality japanese restaurant (where quality can sometimes equal snobby waitstaff).
I recommend the hamachi tartare and the sahsimi sushi deluxe platter.
