Gobble a variety of tacos after hitting the surf in Long Beach. While the food here is mediocre Cal-Mex fare, the bar attracts the young, tanned, cheap-beer loving hordes of Long Beach denizens. The restaurant has a mellow vibe, the occasional band, a roving taco cart on the sidewalk to lure tipsy nightowls and decent fish tacos make this a step above Baja Fresh.

We just moved to Long Beach, and this was the first place we ate. We weren't disappointed! My boyfriend ordered the Alamo Burrito, which was absolutely massive. He couldn't finish it -- and we can both scarf down Chipotle burritos, no problem, so this is really saying something. If you can't resist ordering it, see about splitting your order. This place serves up huge plates of yummy Mexican food in a pretty lively environment. There's a sweet view and lots of buzz in and around the whole place. Sometimes the wait can be annoying, but with patience comes enough food for leftovers and a good time. Great for casual lunches with old friends.

When you're in the mood for good Mexican food and you have a hearty appetite, you can satisfy your craving here without spending much. The burritoes are enormous, big enough to share and the taquito appetizer makes a great lunch. The only negative is that the place is very popular and there's usually a wait to be seated at lunchtime. Relax and enjoy the view...it's worth the wait!
