Swingers is where the 1970's live and rule. The staff is dressed like auto mechanics wearing uniforms with the Swingers logo, which is based on a race car. It's basically a diner with some healthy and tasty food. It's the kind of place to show up for a relaxing breakfast or some food after hitting a few bars. The menu is filled with a collage of 1970's icons. There is a counter if you just want to get a breakfast or a burger. Swingers is part of the Beverly Motor Lodge, but it is totally open to the public. Sometimes it gets a little busy for breakfast on the weekend, but there is a lot of street parking.

Tartan plaid booth seating and Andy Warhol-inspired cows set the scene at this diner which serves California influenced, traditional diner items, such as fruit juice enriched shakes and grilled cheese with avocado.

Only in LA can diners be found at which meatloaf and mashed potatoes sit one table down from tofu saut. The scene and four-page menu attract celebs, artists, local families and health fanatics from the gym across the street. The concept is comfort food with flair, seen in offerings like a turkey burger and onion rings, Creamsicle shakes and Mickey Mouse pancakes. And yes, that pint-sized girl in sunglasses ... more

In Short For better or for worse, Swingers has become an L.A. institution. Andy Warhol-inspired wallpaper (cows, not cans), tartan-plaid booths and waitresses in fishnets epitomize L.A.'s retro diner scene where vintage-clothed screenwriters hang. The elaborately illustrated menu includes grilled cheese stuffed with sharp cheddar and avocado, milk shakes enriched with fruit juice, and salads ... more

Resurrected from a motel coffee shop, Swingers was transformed by a couple of L.A. hipster nightclub owners into a 1990s version of comfy Americana. The interior seems like a slice of the 1950s until you notice the plaid upholstery and Warhol-esque graphics, which contrast nicely with the retro red-white-and-blue Swingers logo adorning everything. Guests at the attached Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel ... more

Ok - we've gone dozens of times for breakfast, so i can only speak to that. Its a really good place. Not excellent but really good. The menu has a variety of things and a veggie like me can always find something. The decor is fun and lively. The service is good, friendly and eager to please. Sure, there have been glitches however the good experiences far out weigh any problems we've encountered ... more

I love Swingers for casual post-dancing food, or just when I want to go out with friends and have a good time without spending much or getting dressed up. I reccomend the breakfast and the appetizer especially, and the desserts are uncommonly tastey for a "diner". I like they they use real maple syrup, olive oil an butter- none of the usual corn syrup/margarine stuff you et at a diner- it's not health ... more

Cute friendly warm staff. Decent food and prices. Seems a little hip, but it's not pretentious or exclusive. The food is only a bit above average, but it's open late at has a good atmosphere.

I love swingers. Jen is the coolest server ever. The seared tuna sandwich with ginger dressing is great. The shakes are pretty good too.
