Susina Bakery and Cafe

Great food - erratic service

Review Rating
The baked goods here are amazing. The interior is charming. But the service can range from slow to non-existent. Oh, they are there when you order and pay, but beware if they warm something up like a slice of quiche. I've waited more than half an hour for that slice. They, in fact, forgot about me.

Pretty much all of their desserts are decadent and delicious but the molten chocolate cake is a real standout. Susina also makes wonderful cupcakes, though they're not sold in the stores & are only available by pre-ordering them.

A welcome addition to the designer-oriented Beverly/La Brea shopping district, Susina brings a European flavor to a block dominated by evil chains. This charming patisserie, originally founded by former Spago pastry chef Anna Delorefice, creates everything on premises: Breakfast pastries are the specialty. Jenna is great to work with--she's down-to-earth, really nice, polite, and courteous without any of the snobbiness that some other bakeries have. Most importantly, she seems to be passionate about baking and you can tell by trying one of her cakes! We ordered 2 Bear (chocolate) cakes and one Berry Blossom cake for our wedding. The cost of a 3-tiered cake exceeded what we budgeted for the... more

I have coming here for a couple of years now. The banana cream pie, fruit bowls, Quiches tarts are all fabulous! I had them make my wedding cake recently and everything looked so good they ended up making my wedding cake, grooms cake and an extra cake and assortment of cookies for the reception!
My husband and I try new places all the time and NOTHING compares to Susina as far as the quality of... more
