Sushi Roku's chefs prepare innovative small dishes out of succulent, sliced hunks of raw fish. The scallop dynamite is tender and sweet--one of the best in town--and the rich black cod is a perfect counterbalance to the more delicate sashimi dishes. Try any sashimi appetizer, such as salmon or bonito, with tangy garlic ponzu sauce and jalapeno tempura. There are also daily sushi specials that usually ... more

Sushi Roku on 3rd Street is rockin'. Literally. The decor features pebbles and rocks set into the walls and boulders along the floor. There's a congenial bar populated with people in black. Fortunately, this place doesn't get by on good looks alone: The sushi is very good. Be sure to try the fried calamari, too, or the seafood ceviche in avocado sauce spiked with shiso and capers. Nightly specials ... more

A traditional, yet always contemporary Japanese wood, bamboo, and stone interior sets the tone for this trendy, upscale restaurant where sushi specials change daily to offer the freshest in rare, Japanese imports. An imaginative and extensive menu of Japanese delicacies complements excellent sushi, and reservations are recommended for tables.

Zen-sexy decor, stylish cuisine and a buzzing, beautiful crowd have helped this longstanding favorite remain one of the trendiest sushi spots in town. With feng-shui elements like fire, water and natural stone incorporated throughout, the dining room and sushi bar have that early-00s look that started a huge trend thanks, Dodd Mitchell. The California touch is apparent in every dish, where local ingredients ... more

My boyfriend and I are big sushi fans and went to Sushi Roku after hearing all of the good reviews. Granted, we walked in without a reservation, but were told it would only be a 20 minute wait for a table. We waited at the bar until about 30 minutes had passed. We asked the hostess about our table and she said it would be another 40 minute wait. After sensing our irritation, she offered to let ... more

The vibe here is very fun and the sushi is good. Not my favorite sushi place but definitely a close second. The service is great and it is a bit expensive but the atmosphere is impecable.

This is the best sushi I've had in this area. The rolls are really unique and delicious! The bar is also very hip, fun, and sheeck (sp?).

Pros

+ YUMMY!

Cons

- EXPENSIVE sushi, traffic/parking, people are seated too close together.

good for rolls and that sort of thing

this is a good spot for a nicer work lunch. they do good sushi rolls but i wouldn't go there for the fish itself. service was always ok. your basic drink list. nice decor. convenient valet. cooked stuff is ok too. basically, it's reliable if you're in the area, but not destination dining.

Pros

+ good rolls, pretty decor

Cons

- not my pick for sushi itself
