The food was terrific, the service excellent and the view of the ocean was really quite nice! I will go back for lunch sometime in the future.
Visited The Sunset a second time (first 7 years ago). Location is great, right there on Zuma beach, but must pay $5 for parking. food expensive, but good. Our waiter was cold and seemed to just want to get us out for the next seating. Go for the experience, not the food.
The Sunset has the essentials covered. This isn't beach dive funky, or fancy huge volume food factory. This is small, comfortable, good food quality and great views of the water from nearly every chair. The bar is well sited but small, the lounge comfy and also small, and the restaurant comfortable and beachy.

It was my neighborhood for over nearly 20 years and no matter who took over this restaurant's location or whatever name it had over the years, it was always the locals place to go. I've seen some of the most famous people in the world sitting in a booth next to us...from politicians...
