Help us make it rightIt's hard to mess up breakfast. The grill offers three eggs make hashbrowns and toast for under seven dollars...A savings of almost 3 dollars compared other diner type restaurants in the area.... The restaurant is clean the service is fast and the staff is friendly... If you time it right you can watch the Amtrak or freight trains pass by..
Limited menu, mostly sandwiches and burgers. Food was OK. Talk out dining atmosphere. They had some local musicians the night we were there. They were pretty good.
It was a bit like going to Dennys. Fortunately, it was priced about the same, too.
I had a tuna salad, and it was very good. Many kinds of green goodies, no boring lettuces and two large scoops of nicely done tuna.
No tomato. :-(.
BTW, I was able to peek in the kitchen...floor was spotless...a very good sign.
If there were someway to rate a place between poor and average I would choose that. The food was okay, the service was okay, the atmosphere was okay... but it is definitely not a destination in Grover Beach that I would repeat. Average, average, average.
If you like comfort food at a good price with generous portions, than this is the place to be. Daily specials in a friendly place makes for a perfect lunch experience with the family. Burgers are tasty but the sandwiches are better. Pull pork and pastrami are my personal favorites.
