Editorial Reviews from the web
In Short A comfortable horseshoe bar draws in early evening crowds. A bay of front windows looks over the sprawling hillside of Governor's Park from the cozy comfort of the warm-toned interior. The menu ranges from a simple, juicy piece of grilled salmon and a Black Angus burger, to a delicate bit of roasted foie gras and a rack of lamb rising from a bed of thyme and spiked with olive...

After visiting Aqua ( see review ), I decided to stop by Sparrow , a nearby restaurant I'd reviewed two years ago (" Cry Fowl ," March 17, 2005). At the time, I counted Sparrow among the worst restaurants in the city — the sort of place that was so ridiculously bad on so many levels that a meal there was almost like theater, like a farce with recurring gags involving such bad timing and...

I have only had the pleasure of dining at Sparrow one time but what a time it was. The food was delicious and you could tell the chefs cared about what they were sending out. I had the Proscuitto Wrapped Pork Tenderloin and not only was it perfectly cooked and seasoned but it was also artistically displayed on the plate. Almost too pretty to eat but I was glad I did.
To those of you reading these reviews, Sparrow is no longer open.
It was once a wonderful restaurant with a fantastic staff and wonderful food. My favorites were the tuna on tuna appetizer, the Tuscan Seafood Bouillabaisse entree, and the ?Sparrow? which was a wonderful white Sangria.
I?ll forever be grateful of the wonderful memories I have of this place.
