Where it All Begins!
Not too far east of Worcester in the town of Shrewsbury you'll find Ski Ward, a small area with something for everyone. Ski Ward is open 7 days a week and offers night skiing and tubing, always a plus for those with a busy schedule who still want a few hours on the snow. The hill boasts a big tubing operation with 8 lanes and two dedicated lifts plus four other lifts including a triple chair servicing 40 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain. For those who want a little more challenge, you can take on the area’s best terrain park or head down Ritchie’s Ravine, otherwise known as the ‘gulley.’
For those who simply want to learn how to ski or ride or to improve their skills, a snow school with more than 100 instructors offers private and group lessons, multi-week lesson programs and holiday vacation week packages.
A busy base lodge with full cafeteria services, a rental shop, and first aid can be found near the bottom of the triple chair. Ski Ward continuously adds to their up-to-date snowmaking capabilities, state-of-the art grooming fleet and lift capacity, most recently adding a new conveyor lift.
Ski Ward has also expanded its operation to include summer activities consisting of summer tubing, a ski and snowboard terrain park, and the Hillside Dairy Bar offering fried seafood and ice cream.
