Be ready for a 5 star experience in a 4 star setting. You won't have maitre'd's or high-fallutin' wait staff, but the folks serving you are very nice, hard working and attentive staff. Consistently good home cooking. Fresh tasty food, fast friendly service, Texas sized portions. What's not to love?
Small chicken fried steak is bigger than most larger steaks at other restaurants.

Went here again to see if they have improved.they have not.still out of certain foods,service is lacking,steak not cooked to order,dry potato.this place will be skipped on my out to eat adventures.

We visited in July and returned in October to see if their problems had been resolved. Unfortunately, the answer is 'no.' I continue to believe Shinola's has potential, but all I can give it again is a 2 rating. The interior decor is nice and has a comfy vibe. The menu is extensive and typical of a great Texas restaurant....
