I think a lot depends on how much one pays for one's room. The people complaining may have paid $189/night. I paid $50/night on priceline.com, and loved the place. Our room was large. The beds were new. We were in the Atrium. The Tower overlooks the freeway, but not the Atrium. We were told by the desk clerk that internet... more

The hotel was convenient to the convention centre downtown, but the bathroom in my room was in disrepair, the room smelled of garbage, and the bed was falling apart. The Sheraton Birmingham was the site of the first annual OmegaCon Science Fiction convention. Several hundred people stayed at the hotel and several hundred more attended on day passes, so the hotel was completely full in the convention area.
