Space is definitely at a premium at Sfoglia, as evidenced by the small table crammed in the entrance next to the maître d’ stand. What the 50-seat Upper East Side restaurant lacks in room, however, it makes up for with its food. Guests are encouraged to indulge in antipasti, primi, secondi and contorni in the typical Italian fashion. Though the menu changes bi-monthly, highlights include...

The food was wonderful, they were very gracious, as we arrived early for our reservation. They sat us at the bar (the bartender(ess) was very rude and unaccommodating. They got as a table as quickly as possible. Everything aside from the bartender was wonderful. Our waitress was especially professional and friendly.
Haven't been here in ages but nothing has changed. Had a cozy and absolutely delicious meal. Even if the food wasn't as good, I would still come for the cozy environment!
Wonderful food. Great Italian wine selection. Service is very attentive and thoughtful.
Food tasted homemade and like something I would not have thought of. Very nice!
Every time great experience and food.

Our Renaissance-influenced menu changes bi-monthly inspired by the seasonally available produce from the Greenmarket network. We encourage diners to eat...

Sfoglia is a lovely little trattoria residing on an unassuming stretch of the Upper East Side, across the street from the 92nd Street Y. Farmhouse tables topped with the season's produce are the appropriate setting for Sfoglia's country Italian fare. The private dining room tucked away upstairs can seat an intimate party of twelve.
Rustic Italian
Though recommended for two, the hot crostada dessert--seasonal fruit wrapped in pastry dough and covered with housemade gelato--can easily feed four.
The menu changes on a bimonthly schedule, based on market availability.
