great to get around

I would give them higher stars there were cleaner stations.Buses run within walking distance of most streets and cross streets.Trains run thoughout city connect to busses. Train runs into town ctr from airport. Trains conect to Amtrk also.

A great city transit system

What I like is that the trains are excellent, the outside Philly coverage is very good. The buses run every three minutes down the main streets. Etc. and Senior Citizens ride free on the buses and trolly's and 85cents on the trains.

Way better than NJ Transit

Buying tickets for trains and bus tokens/passes is much simpler than the NJ Transit system. Buses and trains run fairly regularly, and special schedules are made to accommodate holidays like New Years Eve and extended mall hours during the holiday shopping season. Buses run less often and become less convenient in the farther suburbs.

Ugh - worst

always late - rude employees - horrible bus drivers. Nothing good to say except that it's your only option. don't set your expectations too high. And if you're a regular car driver - prepare for the a-hole bus drivers to cut you off and stay in the left lane going 40 mph.

Sure, it is not Paris transportation but the trolley you see there is just behind my home, and I have 5 lines to choose from to be at 30th Street railway station in 8 minutes --and connect to our subway (only two lines, but fast)-- and at City Hall in 12 minutes. Don't forget to visit West Philadelphia. It's great!...
