This former general store is about 20 minutes from downtown, but it's worth the trip for the Southern-style flashback. You pull open the screen door and find shelves that are still lined with canned goods with a scattering of tables. Old general store converted to a restaurant. Very rustic, noted for their seafood which was offered grilled or fried. Had the fried which was lightly breaded and not greasy. If you are snobby about decor,don't go,but if you like good seafood give it a try.

Excellent food. We ate there Sunday and Monday lunch. They can "86" your choice to hold you a portion. Enough fried chicken to feed the family. Down home cooking at its finest.
