Help us make it rightVoted Best Italian Upscale Restaurant under $30 by the Tribune
* Brickoven Pizza
* Authentic Italian
* Rediculously Affordable
Scoozi's big, open space is large enough to hold all the flavors of Italy, and that's just what you'll find on its menu: Seasonal, fresh-tasting creations from Sicily to the Austrian border and everything in between. The restaurant focuses on high quality and...
The restaurant focuses on high quality and made-from-scratch cooking perfect for sharing. Start with one of the fine, brick-oven pizzas maybe a white pizza bianca with homemade fresh mozzarella then move on to one of several antipasti, perfect for sharing with friends. Pastas are imported from Italy or made in house, with so many delicious choices you may opt to try one of the three-version...
Located in the lively River North Art Gallery District, this sprawling Italian Trattoria is a grand atmosphere in which to enjoy traditional Tuscan antipasti, pizzas, pastas and seasonal authentic fare. Buon appetito
A "favorite" since "forvever" (or 1986), this midpriced River North Italian is a Lettuce Entertain You stalwart for "homestyle" pastas and brick-oven pizzas (plus gluten-free offerings) delivered by "professional" staffers in a "huge" space where groups and families can "spread out"; so while it may offer "nothing daring", it's a "consistent" choice that keeps most "happy."
Although the food feels kind of "chain-y," there's nothing better than bringing my canine along for a nice summer meal on the patio, complete with doggy dessert.
This ever-popular trattoria continues to attract a yuppie crowd after 5 pm and plenty of wandering suburbanites on the weekend. You'll recognize the restaurant by the gigantic tomato over the front door; inside, a sprawling, two-level dining room presents loft-chic looks of exposed-brick walls, open-truss ceiling, and steel garage doors. This place is nothing if not chameleon; groups love the...
This place is big and bold. It’s also erratic. There are times when it really shines, and there are times when it’s as dull as a German opera. The best bets are the thin-crust pizza and pasta dishes, including spicy tomato sauce-topped penne with sausage and goat cheese. Other dishes we enjoy include crispy garlic shrimp and pan-seared gnocchi with wild mushrooms and peas. Afterward, you can...
In Short
The high decibel level is part of the cheerful ambience at this neighborhood favorite. On weekends, wait times can be long, but the roomy bar provides a comfortable waiting area....
Great food and service, perfect pasta! To bad it's closing
I would have returned.
We take our grandchildren now but have been coming since 1980's. Will miss it!
What a run!
What a wonderful place to eat and meet with friends.
Best wishes to the Great Staff, from the newbies to the vets.
Lettuce mourn
I first dined at Scoozi's 29 years ago when it opened and many time since then. The food is still great and the service is still very good. I hate to see it close.
Had to stop by before the final meals were served. Wonderful as always. Will be missed.
