Schilo's also happens to be an old-school take-out deli. Choose from one of their favorite sandwiches (Reubens, subs, bagels and lox or the always-popular Polish Neighbor), or go a bit more traditional with single meat selections. Top it all off with ever-full plates of rye bread and sweet butter (the German version of chips and salsa) and a frosty mug of their homemade root beer, or try one of...

Found this place on town pass during basic training in 1972. Have been going there whenever I was in SA ever since. That includes when I was stationed in Omaha and hauling a cheesecake back in a cooler. I aimed hundreds of people their way when I was a recruiter in IL.
Pros
+ Great sandwiches, coffee, and cheesecake
Cons
- packed during lunch weekdays

Only downfall for the place, it was busy on a Saturday morning, and the service was slow. The...
