Sazerac Restaurant Review

As is fitting at a spot named for a famed NOLA cocktail, Sazerac hosts a popular happy hour, offering a menu of boldly flavored small bites at equally small prices. Our favorite is chef Shawn Applin’s gumbo with andouille sausage. Other noshes include hand-cut french fries, barbecue pulled pork sandwiches with Carolina-style sauce, and bacon-wrapped dates. For a casual lunch, choose among...

"Tourists and scenesters" drop by for "eclectic", "inventive" Pacific NW–Southern fare at the Hotel Monaco Downtown; decor is "whimsical and wonderful" and while reports on service are mixed, the kitchen staff is "really on the ball."

Tried pierogi with pork shoulder, duck fat fries, carrots and beet salad. The carrots were one of the tastiest I have had and pierogi with pork shoulder was pretty nice. The beet salad was okay and fries were nice, too.
Additional bonus - the restaurant has a...

Outlier has some creative dishes, especially for dessert. The cocktail menu is interesting and everyone appreciated their drinks. The main courses were good, but not excellent. The yellow tail crudo was very fresh and high quality, but the accompaniment was uninspired. The peanut butter curry ice cream was unique and equally loved and hated by members of our dining group. In the end, although...

Parking: The adjoining Hotel Monaco has valet parking, which can be validated at the restaurant. Prices vary depending on time and day, but is about half the cost than without validation.

Save Time: A three-course prix-fixe menu is specially designed to get theater patrons on the way smoothly--the cookies are even packed to go.
