Occupying a 19th-century brick building that once housed a meat market but is now outfitted with shiny copper counters and floor-to-ceiling water features, Sasa embodies East/West/Past/Future fusion, serving artistic manifestations of Japanese izakaya pub grub. "Insanely fresh fish and fascinating nibbles" steal the show at this "trendy" Walnut Creek locale featuring "killer" sushi, "brilliant" small plates and a "vibrant bar scene"; the dining room can get "a bit loud" at times, but sleek decor and a "cool" ambiance make it a go-to for "beautiful people" in search of both "traditional and innovative Japanese cuisine."
Everything was delicious and service was excellent!
Excellent food. First time we had the toro tuna tartar - AMAZING. this time we had hamachi Kama. Equally amazing. It gets busy so booking is advised. Open table thought I was a no show for some reason - so make sure they mark you down. It’s not cheap - but definitely worth it. Try the Albariño they have. Excellent.

Had a great waiter, Pablo! He explained the Menu since it was our first time there! He was very attentive! We had the duck buns! Delish! Great food
