I am Brazilian and have been a regular at São Paulo's since moving back to Austin last January. The food is mostly good, though inconsistent, but the issue here is definitely the service. As someone who has worked in restaurants since I was 12 years old up until recently, I am understanding of the demands of the job and always leave at least a 20% tip.
The night before Valentine's Day my boyfriend took me to dinner here to celebrate, and our waiter (the chubby, middle-aged man with glasses who is always there) was not only unresponsive but outright rude to us throughout the night,...

This campus-area mainstay attracts graduate students galore with an "affordable" array of Brazilian specialties (peppered with a few Tex-Mex dishes) and "great happy-hour cocktails"; "friendly" service and live entertainment on weekends help most overlook the "tired decor."
This restaurant serves consistently excellent Brazilian food. Its location just northeast of the UT campus means students are regular customers, but you'll also find a mix of young professionals and others interested in and appreciating Brazilian cuisine. The atmosphere is casual and pleasant with plenty of seating. The Bife A Cebolado is worth trying for its fried yucca but the sauteed sweet...
