In Short Maybe it's the hearthside seating, the farm-country murals, the big windows overlooking Public Square or the worn wood floors, but everything at this warm sanctuary, surrounded by the cool marble of the Renaissance Hotel, says "a night in Provence." Think pan-Mediterranean, starting with flamenco guitar music and continuing through Burgundy wine. Tapenades, tartar and terrine... more

The Scene Located on Public Square, the original center of town, this is the city's grande dame hotel. Return visitors might remember it as Stouffer's Inn on the Square or the Tower City Centre Plaza Hotel. Though down to a three-word name, the hotel is bigger than ever. We took a weekend trip to Cleveland from Pittsburgh last summer and booked our room on priceline. For $65 dollars we got an excellent room here. I would suggest booking online thru priceline instead of paying the extremely expensive prices per room. The staff was very friendly and knew a lot about the areas. Coming from Pittsburgh, I was used to the malls staying open til atleast 9:00pm, I went... more
