The newest hotel in town, Abrego (formerly the Sand Dollar Inn) opened in the summer of 2009, bringing Monterey posh lodging at a reasonable price -- and away from the kitschy Cannery Row, at that. Very nice accomodations
Very modern and quiet room with very comfortable beds along with chaise and fireplace. Rain style shower and large tub were very relaxing. Room had a refrigerator, but didn't have a vending machine for soft drinks or water in the wings opposite main building (where we stayed).
We loved the fireplace in our room and the bathroom was large and updated nicely. The room was clean and beds were comfortable.\n\nTh only complaint was the noise we could here from the room above us. You could here every step - luckily they weren't too noisy! And we wished the hours to the hot tub wouldn't have closed so early.
