The two reviews below are confusing because Sahara moved from Southland Dr to Beaumont. It was replaced on Southland Dr by Ali Baba, which is not nearly as good.

The real Sahara restaurant serves Mediterranean food as authentic as the American market will take. They cater heavily to Halal diets so the meat is the finest quality available. The hummus is perfect. And it's no more expensive that... more

good location but the food was not authentic as i thought it would be their hummus was runny and the chicken haworma was old so i think its a good place for coffee but the food was not appealing a good suggestion would be Istanbul palace by waller ave or oasis by campus.

The vegetable combo entree is my favorite. Falafel, grape leaves, etc. You can also get deli meat off the spit. There's another Sahara in Beaumont Center that also serves great dishes. I'm not sure if they are related. It's been a while since I was at the Sahara on Southland. The one at Beaumont is fantastic.
