What the community has to say about Safari Sams

Information about this business (1)

Theatrical performances, opera, spoken word and every imaginable genre of music are offered in abundance. Of course, not all of these entertainment options are offered at the same location. At least not until Safari Sam's, a new nightclub and performing arts center, is scheduled to open. The two-story performance space includes a full-service restaurant with both indoor and al fresco dining,...

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

Indie legend Sam Lanni brought the 10,000 Maniacs and Sonic Youth to our Southern shores back in the day. Now he's back, swinging on vines in a former tittie club, defying expectations with some of the craziest entertainment the dressed-down crowd has ever witnessed. Punk cabaret of sword swallowers, burlesque, spoken word, political seminars, and brain-shattering live music. Eclectic and...

I went to this place in support of a fundraiser of all things. The night started off okay. The place seemed decent and my server, Caroline, was nice and allowed the three of us that arrived earlier to pay with cash and credit. Once our other friends arrived they got Amber, the hostile blonde waitress. She appeared to be irritated about having to wait on tables and spoke in a condescending...

We must've had the same bad waitress as aliota 112. Older blonde, and the most horrific service ever.
She started off as unattentive. She'd take half our order (there were 7 of us), then say she'd be back. She'd be gone for 15 minutes, then repeat. She looked frazzled, so at first I wrote it off as her having a bad day. Bad service, but not horrible. Then she got bitchy out of nowhere....

In ShortA sequel 20 years in the making, this former Orange County-based nightclub known for eccentric poetry readings and groundbreaking performances by Henry Rollins and 10,000 Maniacs has reappeared in a former strip club space on Sunset. The two-story, mirage-themed location is complete with a restaurant, outdoor patio space, art gallery, grandstand and two full bars. The entertainment...

"I'll go first, and I'll order a water." These words ticked off the blonde waitress so much that she almost refused to serve me, the main performer, telling me, "you should be asking me nicer." Performance went pretty well, but I won't be returning as either a performer or customer. This place was better as a strip club, when the stripper "Ace" was working there. She was hot; this place was...
