When we moved in they tried to charge us a $350 cleaning fee or offered that we clean it ourselves to waive that fee, so we cleaned it to avoid paying them to clean the rental. This, we thought, was a strange policy, but we dealt with it. We were told that when we moved out, as long as it was reasonably clean, they would pass along the fee to the next tenants.
