I would like to recommend S&J engines to anyone seeking a new motor...Not only did they take good care of me but they went the extra mile to make sure all my needs were met...My next engine will be an S&J engine. Yours should be too. (Edited March 13, 2012)
I'm proud to place my stamp of approval on S&J Engines. Not only did they deliver what they promised, but they exceeded my expectations.
From the initial order to their follow up, the customer service was outstanding. I'll be using them for years to come.
STAY AWAY!!! My engine blew up after 800 miles. I had to fix it. They did not honor the warranty. They can find a way to not pay.
Do not purchase a engine from these guys, they do not honor the warranty and don’t trust them if you already bought an engine from them. Record all your conversations. They lie and make up stories to get out of paying. I installed the engine 3 times with all the expenses on me. They never reimburse me at all. I dealt with Dan their warranty guy for 5 months, paying out of pocket 4200 dollars. They still have the so-called warranty engine and want 250 dollars to get it back saying there’s nothing wrong with it. The dealership said it was a bad engine (metal in oil and intake), the second shop said it was a bad engine (metal in oil and scared cylinder walls) and the third shop said the same thing. I finally had to buy another engine from someone else--now my truck runs great. 39 complaints from bbb and 3 from the AG office. Worst company ever. They have changed their name from S and S to S and J engines. DON’T BUY FROM THEM!
I purchased an engine from S & J in May of 2014. The engine arrived and was installed. On first start, coolant sprayed from a large crack in one of the heads. After a close inspection, it was determined that this damage was not attributed to shipping, but rather an obvious, detectable defect that would normally be found during the QC process using any normal pressure test. I bought a long block 350 Chev marine motor for my boat. I bought the long block because it came with a 2 year warranty. After install the motor continued to push coolant and pressurize, overflowing out of my heat ex-changer. I paid the company that did the install to replace the heat exchanger, check all kinds of potential issues. Only to find out that the head gasket was blown on a brand new motor. We sent the invoice to S&J to have them cover only a small part of the repairs and they refused. Brand new motor with not even an hour on it.
Their good reviews were by paid reviewers!!!Worst!!!! Do not believe the yr warranty. They make every excuse not to handle warranty work. Warranty dept helpful till you send motor back then make every excuse that it was your fault not?
