Help us make it rightNapa Valley's Rutherford Grill has been serving Valley residents & visitors alike since 1994. Warmth, comfort & service are as much a part of the dining experience as our signature Rib-Eye, Iron Skillet Corn Bread & Banana Cream Pie. We welcome you to enjoy wines from our reserve list with a relaxed meal on our patio, relax by our wood burning fireplace with a cocktail from our patio bar, or...
Rutherford Grill is known for many reasons: No reservations are taken over the phone, so all diners must show up, sign up and then (if lucky) get a seat on the lovely outdoor patio to await entry. This might take awhile, but this spot has a thriving outdoor bar scene that's perfect for warm Napa evenings. The outdoor fireplace warms things up when the weather cools down. It also sizzles up fine...
Red naug-a-beast booths ring the bar, forming the sizable dining room at this crowd-pleasing chophouse from Hillstone Group, the folks who bring you Houston's. Like the space, the food is big, basic and exactly what you want, if you've braved the wait. Chickens roasting on rotisseries (many, many of them) are visible through a glass pane offering views of the kitchen. Another window offers a...
Best Meal on Vacation. My wife and I stopped in while we were on vacation, and had a wonderful experience. The rib eye was perfectly seasoned and cooked to temperature. The homemade W sauce was out of this world and the desserts were also magnificent. The service however was stuffy and cold. If we come back to SF we'll make our way to this restaurant.
Fantastic Meal. Delicious meal! Tri-tip and enchilada were wonderful
This place seems like an overpriced burger joint. The service was impersonal. The restaurant was over air conditioned . I'm sure that there are other restaurants in the Napa area that are more charming. The service wasn't personal, felt like they were trying to turn over the table to the next customer. There is no outdoor seating.
I heard the name before, but never visited it, so it was very exciting to try one of the Napa Valley well-known restaurants. To give you a quick summary, the food, service and atmosphere were all great – you should definitely put it on your destinations list if you will be in the area. Here are few of the food pictures.

Mothra Says.....Lunch, Drinks, and Sunshine. On a recent beautiful 82f Napa Valley afternoon, the four of us dropped into the Rutherford Grill for a lunch al fresco. Edgar greeted us warmly and handed out menus; iced teas for R and M, and waters for K and I to start.
Family-friendly yet upscale enough to welcome special-occasion dinners, this cozy steakhouse (part of the Houston's family) features rustic accents -- weathered wood and stonework, leather booths, a wood-burning fireplace, and patinated lamps over each table. The appealing (and canine-friendly) patio offers spectacular views of the valley, and featured comfort fare includes famous iron-skillet...
