They quoted me $100 for my front brakes and I left my truck there. They called me 40 minutes later and said I was looking at $1500. I came back to see what they were talking about and they busted my back brake wheel cylinders to try and get more money out of me. They said the front rotors needed replaced so the front brakes went from $100 to $480. Good thing I myself am a mechanic and knew they were full of it (new rotors are $21 each at the part store). I went to oreilly's auto parts and got everything for under $200 and did the brakes all around myself. I asked them about a catalytic converter for my truck and they said $1000, ha. I told them how full of crap they were because I just had it replaced at a muffler shop for $245. I was told it would take about an hour to look at my car to confirm that I really did need the rotors. However, despite being busy, a mechanic looked at my car immediately and within 15 minutes was telling me that I did need the rotors. He verified the price I had been quoted a week earlier ($70 less than Just Brakes' price), and he said he'd get it done ASAP. Within an hour and a half, I was on my way home. The service was friendly, professional, and honest. I had a bad experience at Just Brakes the previous week, so it was refreshing to be treated with respect. I was made to feel like a valuable customer. I also got the oil changed during this visit, and I will return to Brakes Plus for other needs, such as an inspection and an alignment.
