Editorial review from Citysearch

I have been renting a property from Cityscape for about 9 months now. Gene is my property manager and he is great to work with! Move in was a breeze and the place looked fantastic. I have had a few minor repairs that were taken care of quickly by very courteous contractors. Gene goes out of his way to help his tenants. I would highly recommend any property that he manages!

Recently had a water emergency in my…

Recently had a water emergency in my condo and Ron was on top of getting the remediation ASAP to make sure as little damage as possible, this was done very quickly. I look forward to a smooth coordination between CityScape and the tenant to get the repairs done as quickly as possible. They have been great in finding tenants, quick rent collection/deposit, and coordinating maintenance repairs.

CityScape has helped us tremendously.

CityScape has helped us tremendously. We don't have to worry about our rental property -- repairs and maintenance issues are handled swiftly and with as little cost as possible. We also love not having to search for tenants, perform credit checks, or show the property. I'd highly recommend CityScape to anybody looking for a property manager in the Denver metro area!

What a joke - Ron is the owner of Cityscape

This is a joke. The 4 FIVE STAR Reviews are from the owner of Cityscape, not tenants or property owners. The last one looks like it was written by him too. We are tenants of a property managed by Ron and Cityscape and wish that we could get in contact with the owner of the property. He completely ignores requests, doesn't return phone calls, and does basically nothing. After over 15 requests to get things repaired, all items that we were promised would be repaired when we moved in 3 months ago, we finally just told him we would repair them ourselves and deduct the cost from the rent. Again, no response. Nothing but ignorance and excuses coming from this guy. As a tenant, it is frustrating and aggravating. My wife and I own several rental properties in another state. If Ron was our property manager, he would have been fired.

Disappointing Experience

I had a lease with Cityscape from 13 Sep 2011 to 31 May 2012. We had over 3 weeks between signing our lease and moving in. On move-in day the disaster that was our experience with Cityscape began. Cityscape was to fix multiple deficiencies with the home prior to move in, but had not accomplished one of them when we arrived. We couldnâ??t even get a key on move-in day, had to get the movers to return next day and only by the end of the day did we have keys to our new home. Getting the fridge replaced took over 2 months, getting paint fixed took over 3 months, one missed appointment I had taken time off work for and they forgot, and they â??repairedâ? it with wrong color leaving discolored spots all over entire house which they refused to fix and remained so throughout our time there. The cooktop had broken and jagged glass, which took over 7 months to fix; they ordered the wrong cooktop (one they found cheaper on clearance), refusing to order the correct one and instead using a tile saw in our kitchen to make the cheap one they found fit. When I mentioned that I wasnâ??t really keen on operating a tile saw in the place we prepare food, I was told, â??that's not your decision to makeâ?¦you can take this one or nothingâ?. Our rental went into foreclosure during our lease, but Cityscape never mentioned anything about it, we had to find out from other real estate agents. Moving out was a huge relief, but they refused to return our deposit until the end of the next month because that is when they do things and the law only requires them to get refunds back within a month. The receptionist lacked anything resembling interpersonal skills or customer service; when I protested on the phone, I was hung up on. Holding on to a customer's money until last possible moment with no explanation is typical of this company - doing the absolute minimum required to get by.

Cityscape ignores emails; they already have your money, they donâ??t want to be bothered by a customer. When they finally do answer email or the phone, they complain about how busy they are and how many properties they are managing â?? you, the customer, should feel sorry for them and allow them not to fulfill their contractual agreements. The mantra of the company is to put on a good front, but if you dare question them, they will attempt to intimidate you by talking down to you and telling you that you donâ??t know about such issues. If that doesnâ??t work to silence a customer, they threaten to have you evicted and destroy your credit. When I once mentioned that I wanted a real estate attorney look over our lease, given the impending foreclosure of the house, Cityscape owner mocked me repeatedly and threatened to have us thrown out of the house immediately. The management is arrogant and aloof, never really aware of what is going on with your property, but enuring you that they are the best in the business. We took great care of the home, paid our rent in full and on time every month and got along great with our neighbors. Our only offense was insisting Cityscape performed functions as advertised; in the end, it was only headaches with no resolution. I would not use Cityscape for any future real estate matters and have advised all associates to stay well clear.
