Residence Inn, Coconut Grove ~ Not Bad At All by Lori T. at InsiderPages

When in the greater Miami area, my first recomendation is to stay at one of the small boutique hotels like the Clinton or the Chesterfield... but when on business at the Port-of-Miami, you might be better off right here at the Marriott Residence Inn.

The place is very nice and te maids are fantastic. The rooms are typical of the chain in that they're all more like apartments than hotel rooms, complete with fully equipped kitchens.

There is a small pool and BBQ area where they have happy hour with free hot dogs and burgers between about 5-7PM, and breakfast is free in the morning from 6-10(ish). Not gourmet fare by any means... but free is free and it's edible.

The best thing is the free broadband Internet access in every room. It's fast and easy and I've experienced zero glitches with it.

So, if yu're coming to this area on vacation, opt for a small beachy place, but if awaiting your cruise or on business.. this is your spot. 4 stars.

PROS: Clean, good location
CONS: well, it's a chain...

Coconut noise

Non traditional Residence Inn, likely a former condo. Nice people, GREAT location. The grove is right around the corner. Breakfast was fine and the room was clean. We had a two bedroom unit. It could have used another chair in the sitting area as well as more than two chairs around the smallish dining table. We also could not seem...

Pleasant Surprise

We had to come to Miami for a wedding and stayed to take a cruise--during spring break! South Beach was out of the question, even though the wedding was over there. So, in looking around, found Residence in 2 bedroom suite for our family of 5. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived early afternoon, since the wedding was early evening....

Friendliest Staff Around and Great Location

Agree with last review. This hotel is not particularily glamorous but clean and in a great location - walking distance to Coco Walk with many stores and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and breakfast was nice. My only complaint was that I had used Marriott points for the two nights and they ended up charging me a room charge....

Uncommon Graciousness in Tight Quarters

Resident Inn's are among the more reliable and consistent of the all-suite hotels and the Residence Inn Coconut Grove maintained that tradition. I was on a family vacation with my wife and two teenage daughters and booked a 2-bedroom suite. It was a typical RI with outside entrances into a Spartan, but appropriately furnished Living room with small dining area...

OK stay, though a bit disappointed

My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn Coconut Grove for three nights with our daughter and son-in-law and grandaughter. I chose this hotel because it had a two bedroom/two bath suite which included a full kitchen and living and dining area. I had read all the reviews on Tripadvisor and tried to adjust my expectations accordingly. Our previous...

Nice, comfortable stay

From the exterior, this hotel doesn't look terribly impressive. However, the service, location, and room itself were great. First, the staff - very friendly, very helpful. Checking in and out was easy and we had no problems. We were even able to leave our rental car in the hotel garage on Sunday until it was time to head back to...

Great Room and Service

My wife and I stayed at this hotel before a cruise and had a good experience. As other reviews indicate, it's convenient to CocoWalk and other shops and outlets. Our room was fine although the major appliances were old and warn. This is not your regular Residence Inn - it is quite obviously a converted older hotel/motel complex. The room...

Avoid his Hotel

Once into the parking lot, you know it is more like a jail than a hotel. This is not a Residence Inn, this is not a hotel. Metal Bars are everywhere, if security is this bad, no one should be staying in this hotel. My room 3250 had broken tiles throughout the bathroom, this left mold everywhere. The previous guests...
