Great food

I had breakfast with my friends recently at Melita's and ordered the steak & eggs. The hasbrowns are not the frozen type and the service was great. Prices are cheap too.

Greek for me! by Brad J. at InsiderPages

I loved their falafel sandwich. It was served with a small Greek salad which was really fresh and their dressing hit the right notes. They offer free WiFi so you can hang out and catch up on email away from the office if you need to.

I recently discovered this little gem. They have gyros of course, but they also carry the best Greek imported feta I've had since I was in Greece a few summers ago. I also loved their hummus and spanikopita (spinach pie) and their prices are so reasonable! I'm definitely going back again and again. You might also run into some local celebrity Channel 4 people who frequent the place since their office is right across the street.

This place is awesome! New owner! www.melitasgreekcafe.com by Adriana A. at InsiderPages

A young lady named Maria took this place over in August 2008 and gave it a new shine. The same great Greek food and grocery items are still for sale and the space is very warm and inviting with the newly added woman's touch. On Lincoln street downtown, it can be found directly across from the News 4 building between 10th and 11th streets. Look for the colorful flowers in the front and the smell of the best gyros in town!

Good Food, Sexist & Racist Owner by John M. at InsiderPages

I went to this place a few times. The food is good, but the last time I went I witnessed Victor Katopodis mistreating his employees. He was yelling at two Mexican employees, talking down to them like they were dirt. A young woman who worked for him ended up walking out in tears after he yelled at her for no reason at all. As I watched the young woman crying on her way out, I heard Victor say to her sarcastically, Oh, yes sweetheart. Cry, why don't you cry?

I attempted to give the young woman a $5 dollar tip, but she was too upset to take the money.

This ruined my meal. I have never returned to this place. If the owner cannot learn how to treat his employees like human beings, then I will not be giving him my business. Shame on Victor Katopodis for behaving like a racist misogynist. Shame on him for making Greek men look so bad. He is lucky that there were only two people in his market to witness this, me and my coworker. What an awful monster of a man.

This little gem on Lincoln Street is a place to enjoy the BEST breakfast pitas and really good coffee. The owners are great- they prepare your food themselves. In addition to the deli's tasty Greek food (buy hummus, cheese and pastries to take home!), you can also browse through an exotic array of Greek pantry items like cake mixes, stuffed grape leaves, and imported olive oil. Diana's is a wonderful spot, not to be missed.
