Walked out of a used car lot

I decided to go to Dr. Cho after reading good reviews on another site. Although Dr. Cho is informative and pleasant, I came away from the visit knowing he overcharged me for his services. I also was not comfortable with his office's attempt to get me to pay for elective procedures. At the outset, an assistant handed me a pamphlet re: an annual test for oral cancer costing $65 and not covered by health insurance, hmo or ppo. The assistant was persistent and borderline pushy when I declined even after I conveyed I did not fall within the risk groups. Prior to my teeth cleaning, I was given a sheet of recommended dental procedures, one of which was for periodontal irrigation for $50 on top of my copay. Again, not covered by my health insurance. The assistant explained it was an advance cleaning procedure to remove bacteria below the gum line and made it sound like it was a necessity. I was suspicious of this "new" procedure, the first I ever heard, but agreed. The hygenist who cleaned my teeth did not clean each tooth like she was supposed to. Instead, she cleaned only the inside of my teeth and targeted only those teeth that the doctor indicated there was tartar buildup. The periodontal irrigation turned out to be a sonic pulsing toothpick in lieu of a manual toothpick traditional dentist use. Less work for him, and I was basically subsidizing the cost. At the end of the visitation, the assistant reiterated the doctor's recommendation that I have a check-up 3x a year until the doctor was "clinically satisfied" with the health of my teeth. It sounded arbitrary and unnecessary and came after the doctor had said to me that I "was blessed with good teeth." I did get a care packet consisting of a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste, but this is a short consolation to the $80 I shelled out to get SOME of my teeth cleaned.

I've had much better

My 1st immpression speaking with Dr. Cho was very pleasant, and I felt he seemed knowledgable and not pushy. But when i had to return to get work done the second time, he seemed very much irritable and grouchy mostly towards his assistant who seemed to be new and learning. This wouldnt have been much of a problem except that I found it to be unprofessional to be so short tempered and using me as a demonstration so very hastily and cross.

Even worse was when I inquired about invsalign, they had me place a deposit down for it but then brought me back the following week to show me the computerized visuals they took from the molds of my teeth and what to expect in the following months. That was when I found out that with my future schedule and where I might be living that I may want to wait until after I move, regretfully though the deposit is nonrefundable. That is a really ridiculous way to trick people.

Lastly, This is the only dentist I have ever been to that I didnt even receive a care package of floss etc on the way out.
Not recommended...........
