There's ample parking nearby, the food is good and fresh, udon included, and the service is generally attentive. My favorite are the raw oysters garnished with smelts eggs, since it is prepared upon order they may take a bit long but worth the wait. The combo meals are so big it can be shared by two people. We have tried three other Japanese restaurants near by but nothing compares to Octopus. PS Don't forget their deep fried green tea ice cream, it's the bomb at Octopus. The restaurant was nice, one of the staff members was extremely nice (she kept playing with my baby, even took him for a look around the restaurant), and the food was good. We have never (in NYC, Chicago, or LA) been served such fresh and large cuts of fish for so unbelievable a price. Even if you should stray from the selection on their 50% off list, you will still find the Ichiban Roll (for example) to be a meal in and of itself. It is loaded with fresh asparaus, avacado, red red tuna, shrimp, spicy tuna inside ... it's unreal!! And the sushi chefs are super friendly - they will make anything, anyway you like it.
