We have taken our cars to San Carlos Auto since it first opened and have had great service. Ask to speak to Brian. They have always been very helpful, and stayed open late one time before a holiday weekend to help with an issue.

We brought our Honda CRV for service and repairs for a number of years and felt they were reasonable and honest. I just started bringing my old VW Passat for service since they recently retooled. It's a great neighborhood repair shop!

Good job

We have taken our cars to San Carlos Auto since it first opened and have had great service. There is one elderly gentleman who works there periodically who is not very obliging, so I would avoid him totally and ask to speak only with Brian. They have always been very helpful, and stayed open late one time before a holiday weekend to help with an issue.

honest i dont think so.

granted the shop is clean, i took my car a while back for a check engine light and it was mis diagnosis from Brian and his crew. i was leary about their ability to fix this problem because of how the more i asked what caused the problem the more frustrated Brian became. they gave me the price i feel was high to fix what he told me i was. always take your car for a second opinion because i did that and it was a vacumm leak. Brian wanted to sell me an oxygen sensor for 250.00 installed. a piece of vacumm hose to fix this problem cost me nothing from another auto repair shop. so if you know what is good for you go elsewhere.

Wouldn't take my cars anywhere else

We have used San Carlos Auto Service for well over 10 years, and got the first recommendation from our neighbor who uses them for all of his landscaping vehicles. Brian, and his team, provide the best value for dollar of any mechanic I've used. Above that, you get an honest estimate and courteous service. On one occasion, my son (on a limited budget) needed some advise on what needed to be done. When he went to get the car, he was told what needed to be done ASAP, what could be deferred, and what he could do himself. Now that's an honest mechanic.

These guys’s are great and know there stuff. It's a small garage but they will always make time for you. San Carlos Auto Service will do anything from a simple oil change to a tune up, and everything in between. I've been having my car serv...

honest and reliable mechanics

I've been having my car serviced at San Carlos Auto for many years. They have never let me down. Their prices are very competitive and reasonable. It is a family run business. The only downside is that they are closed on weekends.

Our favorite mechanics

I first used this after I bought my very own car years ago. I took it in to get the oil changed and discussed with the mechanic how I was going to Vegas. When I picked the car up, he had inflated and rotated all the tires, too, because he said that they needed it especially before a trip like that. More recently, we took our minivan in for work. They have always been reasonably priced and reasonable. When the "check engine" light came on a couple days after we had the car serviced, they investigated for free although it had nothing to do with the work they did. The man then told me a sensor had died, and I could have all the sensors replaced at once but he wouldn't recommend it as it would get expensive (at a dealer they would recommend getting all of them replaced at once). He also explained, patiently and in detail, what the sensors did, all of which I checked out later with my father in law and husband, who know more about cars than I do. They did they work while I walked down to the gym so I wouldn't have to catch another ride, and each time the car got worked on, they were done when they said they were going to be done.
