<title>Bad diagonostics by Charles R. at InsiderPages</title>
<link>http://www.yellowbot.com/midas-auto-svc-experts-arlington-va.html</link>
<description>Midas prides itself on its brake repair, my last visit there make me think they are trying to scam people out of more money. I went in to get inspections and my brakes checked out. I had my ABS (Anti-lock brake system) sensor light on as well as my emergency brake light on, so there apparently was a problem with the ABS and/or my brakes. First off they check what codes were coming off of my ABS diagnostics, then proceed to pull off my wheels to check my brake pads/rotors. They charge me a hundred dollars to run a computer to tell me what is wrong with the system. I&#x27;m not an idiot when it comes to cars, so when they tell me that my rotors are bad, brakes need to be replaced, and ABS computer needs to be replaced for somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500, I balked.

Now, I did not have anything done by them, because I like to look and see if everything that was said is correct and potentially fix things myself. Long story short, my brakes have about 50% of their life left, there is a slight wobble in one of my rotors (so slight it would make negligible long term impact), and instead of replacing my abs computer, the rear differential sensor needed to be replaced and a little brake fluid added to my system. All said and done I spent $50 and used a little elbow grease to fix these simple problems. They tried to maximize the amount of money they could squeeze from me and instead lost a customer for life.</description>
