I just moved here to San Antonio and was at the mall when my car just did not wanna shift gears. I dont have any friends or family here and didnt know what i was gonna do. I called my uncle and he suggested i call a nerby Aamco so i googled the nearest location .. I called them and they towed in my vehicle and even picked me up and took me home. I had my car fixed within the week and they even picked me up . What I liked was they did not automatically tell me I needed a whole new transmission. they were very friendly, professional, and helpful. I towed my car there but did not have a way back to pick up the car--they came and picked me up and drove me back to get my car. They then told me to bring it back in ten days so they coud verify all was still runng good. When I took it back they were again very friendly and professional. So I was left with no other option but to let them fix it. I walked inside to the office and assumed that they were open because the door was open and told the employee my issue and he looked at me with an egotistical grin on his face and said We closed at 2 . Instead of taking 2 minutes of his time to scan my car, he let a customer walk out of the door and couldn t have cared less. I will NEVER go to this location and will inform others of the type of employees they hire. He also had a female, presumably his gf, sitting in the office with him. When I found out that they couldn t offer me the help I needed I started looking around and reading reviews to try and find a good, honest place that could help me out. The first place I called was AAMCO and spoke with Shawn on the phone explaining my problem. Just talking to him over the phone I knew that this was the place for me. They had my car towed from the other shop free of charge and were in contact with me the whole time my car was being fixed. Shawn is a fantastic person and really worked with me and my budget and had my car s cooling system totally repaired within days. My car was repaired 2 days early and now it runs better than when I bought it. I can actually use my AC now, which is a necessary thing to have in San Antonio. I ll be driving it across country in a few months and they told me to bring it in and will make sure everything is running top-notch for me before I take off. I highly recommend! Lesson learned here for sure...where to go and where not to go for honest transmission repairs. It seems those who can only offer a short warranty...can't honestly stand by their work. AAMCO received my car late Tuesday...rebuilt my transmission and my auto was out by Saturday. Big thanks to Matt and crew for their great work. I took a 2006 elantra because my battery was getting drain within 20 to 30 after turning it off. They did a free diagnosis and said it was the battery. I ask them if they were sure that was all. They said yes but we'll do more test for $180.00 +the battery. I just want it the problem solve. I left the car and they said will call you they later today of course they never did. I call them and they said to leave the car longer to check it tomorrow morning. When I went to pick it up they said it was ready and ask what was done to it. They said it was wire under hardnest under the battery. I told them to show me and they never did. I did not believe them because it didn't look like they did anything. First of all the battery cables werer loose and told them to please get them tight. I took off and the radio would not come on or the interior lights. They check it again and said it was the way my sound system was hook up. I got my car back and it just didn't seem right, it was loud and i could feel it pulling when i drove it, I took the car back and they said there was nothing wrong, so a year goes by and my transmission goes out again completely, I take it back to Aamco (3 year warrenty) and it seems whatever is wrong just so happens to not be covered in the warrenty. So I pay another $1900 and this time I only get a 12 month warrenty for a re-build and the car still drives like crap, Ive taken it back many times to have it checked and they keep it for over a week and give me my car back just the same, saying nothings wrong with it, although anyone can hear it and feel the pull. So I take my car and warrenty to another Aamco and show them my warrenties and they ask me why I paid the second time?!!! They said I should have never had to pay again because of the warrenty!!! So I call this San Antonio store which is now under new mangement, and I'm asking the manager why this happened, and all he does is talk over me and yell at me and makes me feel stupid.He tells me I paid for something but its not on the reciept, how can they charge you for something and not put it on the reciept?
