A decent spot, if your horse died...

I went to see a buddy play at this joint (finally). He's been telling me all about it- free line dancing lessons if you get there early, a nice-sized dance floor, etc.

So I finally went but didn't get the full feel as it was raining cats & dogs so the crowd wasn't up to snuff. Everyone was super-friendly (even though I was wearing no hat, huge belt buckle, or dead animal for shoes). Music was great. Waitresses could've been more attentive.

as close to AZ/TX country bar as you'll find in OC

Much cleaner and authentic than In-Cahoots with much more friendly clientele. Has three dance floors, although only one is really used. Live music on Saturday nights is surprisingly talented, and better yet the music is loud and fun on the dance floor but the low ceiling and speaker arangement allows only moderately raised voices at the tables. $5 cover is hard to beat.

Oddly Entertaining...

I'm not a fan of country music, but I did enjoy hanging out at this place on a Saturday night. The band was decent and the dancers were fun to watch. They have a snack stand and I ate a quesadilla. The beer prices are decent. They also have a Western wear store. Howabout that! It's a big place with pool tables upstairs. Thelma and Louise was shot here by the way. Not my cup of tea overall, but if you like the cowboy thing, you'll love this place.

Hitching Post

The outdoor staff were so friendly and curtious I believe if I rode in on my paint they would have fed, brushed and bedded him down. Being a Texan I take stock in customer service and it begins at the door, and next at how the employees treat and communicate to their barbacks and custodial staff. The staff here are friendly, and helpful and showed no differance to persons of color. That is a quality I have found to be the success of Western clubs around the country. But no hitching post. Best place I've found in LA, SOCAL area. Thank goodness Not toooo much rock, disco and line dancing.

Pros
+ not too trendy, friendly doormen, handicap friendly

Cons
- seating, DJ, lite beer crowd
