Do Not Stay Here

The people who wrote the positive reviews for this hotel must be on the Marriott's payroll. My stay at this Marriott was horrible. The room was tiny, the service was poor, and the cost was very high.

Pros
+ Location

Cons
- Service, cost, room size

No wait to be seated; good desserts

Located in the Marriott hotel, this restaurant is not too busy during the week. They have both a hot and cold buffet in addition to the lunch menu. $11 for the cold buffet; $14 for the hot buffet. The selection of food on the cold buffet is not worth the price--generally they have soup, cold cut sandwiches, salad, pasta salad, fruit, build your own cold cut sandwich, and desserts. Quality is good, but quantity of choices is slim. The only redeeming side of the buffet is that they do have excellent desserts. Service from wait staff is pretty slow. There's a better buffet just down the 16th street mall at the Adam's Mark Hotel for about the same price.

Pros
+ great desserts; quick to be seated

Cons
- buffet selection is lacking; slow service

Wonderful Denver Stay

The Marriott downtown is a great place to stay. The restaurants are good, the proximity to the 16th Street Mall is outstanding and the rooms aren't too bad at all. The valet service was a bit slow and the shower in the room was tiny, but we had a romantic getaway that was second to none at the Marriott.

Pros
+ Close to the 16th Street Mall.

Cons
- Tiny Showers

The hotel was an absolute dream to stay in. I stayed at the hotel for several weeks during my recent relocation to Denver. Now my family and I enjoy staying downtown when we want to just get away. Great healthclub (individual tv monitors on all the equipment), great indoor pool, and high speed and wireless throughout hotel.

Gold Medal Hotel

Genuinely friendly! Staff always puts their best foot forward when delivering service - from the valet thru the f/d at checkout. Checking in is quick and painless - They don't keep you there long unless you want to hear about the amenities. Recently renovated - ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL - Very clean, comfortable beds, everything worked in room as well. Went to a reception on Wednesday night in concierge lounge with the GM and other Managers has a huge impact with guests visiting - very personable. Overheard that Head Chef has prepared functions at Mr. Marriott's house! Excellent, first rate food! Great work out area, too. Located within walking distance to everything! Paid $149.00 and was well worth the rate.

Pros
+ service, Genuinely friendly, Location

Cons
- Only has valet prkng

Holy Cow, what a City Center

Marriott City Center in downtown Denver is second to none with all of its service and personnel. I have stayed here a couple of times and always receive the VIP service that Marriott is known for nation wide. There recent renovation of their guest rooms is amazing, not to mention the new BAR!

Visited for a weekend city centre break whilst visiting colorado. The hotel is very well located for the city centre. We arrived on the light rail which stopped directly outside the hotel. Reception: We arrived early and were allocated the room with no problems. Staff were welcoming. On check out, we had been charged for breakfast which was included within...

"Absolutely" : all the staff there say the same phrass. I guess the management had read the reviews here and trying to improve. My impressions: (1) The location is great, a block from the 16th street pedestrian shopping mall. A lot of shops, restaurants there. Very convenient. (2) The bell boy was super helpful. If the hotel management read this,...

Will never stay here again

First of all I had booked room for my best friends bridal shower. I called the hotel 5 times just to make sure that the sitter for the kids could check in with no problems they said yes. I work in a hotel too so I do understand policies. The babysitter arrived at 10:30 pm (with 1,6,8, and 9 year olds) and when we arrived at 11:00 pm they where waiting outside. He informed me that the girl at the front desk, whose name was Kelly (from texas, i think) wouldn't let them check in although his name was on the reservation!! When I asked her what the problem was she gave a lot of attitude! After 20 minutes of her arguing she gave me the keys to the rooms. I then asked her how to find our rooms and she pointed behind me and said 'the elevator are over there!' and turned around. Thank goodness the guy who checked us out in the morning was a plesant guy from Vail. Thanks to him for making us feel better about our stay.. However, I will not stay here again

Not the best Marriott I've stayed in

I stayed here for 5 days as part of a business trip. I normally stay at the Marriott Park Meadows, but wanted a change of scenery on this trip. This hotel may be well suited for huge conferences but I didn't enjoy my stay. Even the executive lounge breakfast area was not up to snuff, with huge crowds every morning...

Heart of the action, lots of stored with in easy walking. Great access to light rail and other public transportation, no real need for a car unless going outside downtown. Well stocked convienence store near lobby. Only drawback, they charge extra for broadband connection in room; however I have a high-speed wireless USB device from Sprint that I was able to use effortlessly. ...

Nice accommodations, but pricey

This is a nice hotel, and conveniently located. We had a room on one of the concierge floors. Unfortunately, the concierge lounge on the 17th floor was closed (we arrived at 6:30 pm), and it was closed for the entire weekend! (So much for the benefits of a higher rate room.) Lobby was quite nice, with a Starbucks that was...

Centrally situated Business Hotel

Centrally situated at California and 17th, within easy reach of the Denver International Airport, this hotel is ideal for business purposes. Nothing very distinctive except it is a well kept hotel with clean rooms, nice beds, aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner and lotion and a good soap and lots of fluffy towels. There is a Starbucks on the lobby level and an american restaurant dpoint at the one level further down, which is more like a sports bar. there is wireless available here and you can access it through your own wireless provider if they are partners with the programme. otherwise it is 12.95 per day noon to noon, it also includes unlimited calls to 50 states in the USA. not a bad deal. the rate for my stay was 259 usd per night
