Don't order the pizza

Ordered 2 pizzas and they came so loaded with cheese that we couldn't even taste the toppings, or the crust. It was so inedible that we weren't able to eat it.

Il Fan-o

I am in favor of this place. Ambiance is the way it should be -- a little quaint Italian villa. Good wine? Check. Good service? Check. Plus, they do something slightly different. They emphasize a plethora of sauce combinations. I like this because pasta is too simple to make. It takes 15 minutes at home. By emphasizing on a more complex and challenging, yet appealing element to the dish, this place really won me over. More ramblings at: worldorbust.blogspot.com

Stale bread and slow service

After a repeat visit to the Arlington location tonight, I must say I agree with others-- the bread was stale and the ravioli, while itself was good, was drenched in a pile of sauce that didn't fit the ravioli. The service was slow despite having few tables occupied, and as we walked out the servers were laughing and carrying on at the front of the restaurant blocking the door. They didn't even say goodnight!

Il Radicchio has gone down the tube!

I've gone to Il Radicchio a number of times. The last couple of times I've gone there the bread has been stale. About a month ago I went there for dinner with a group of friends and we were given stale bread...we asked for fresher bread and our request was honored. Last evening a friend and I went there for dinner once again stale bread arrived at our table. When we requested fresh bread - first our waitress (who was very nice) told us that just how the restaurants bread was...that there was some sort of problems getting bread delivered on Sundays. The evening manager came to our table (he was incredibly rude) - his attitude was there is nothing wrong with this bread and if you don't like it you can order this other fancier bread and pay for it. Some time passed and the manager of the restaurant came to our table who was even ruder that the night manager said that the restaurant's bread was awful and it wasn't going to get any better and if we didn't like it then it was just to bad. I replied that the restaurant used to have great bread. The manager said that they used to make their own bread but that the bread machine was broken and they weren't going to be fixing it because their lease expires in a year and they will be vacating the location. What seems to be happening is that bread is delivered to the restaurant at 7AM and is left outside. Since the staff doesn't show up to the restaurant until sometime in the afternoon the bread is left outside for hours on end exposed to both the air and whatever creatures are around. What a lovely image. I can't imagine an Italian restaurant that doesn't have reasonably good bread let alone any restaurant that would take take such little pride in what they served. If this is what they're doing with their bread I wonder what's happening to the rest of the food!

I took a group of 13 people to this restaurant based upon the recommendation from this web site. This was NOT a good experience. I had a group of 13 and called a couple of weeks ahead to arrange for a table and called the day of the meal to remind them and to ensure that they were prepared. They appeared to have forgotten my group was coming and the man I spoke with was abrupt on the phone.
When we got to the restaurant, they had our group crammed into much too little space.

Most importantly, the restaurant was very warm. The windown unit air conditioner was already set for its coolest temperature and could not be adjusted further. I asked the waitress for a fan and she told me that she would get one out of the office. A man came over and was not polite when he told me that they didn't have any fans and nothing could be done. Of all the events on this trip, this experience was rated most poorly. The food was OK (no one was thrilled), but based upon the experience and the abrupt, unpleasant response to the heat problem, this restaurant is NOT recommended.

Food is a little dry, had the sandwich and chicken. Both could use sauces. Service is slow, waiters don't refill glasses, glasses were a little dirty also. Prices are a little high for lunch. Would not recommend, there are better places to go in the area
