Best of the best. Friendly and great food and great choices. Be ready to wait at peak times, but usually moves right along. When you have to wait usually great food in store for you.

I grew up going here for the dinner specials and the desserts. The portions are large and the food is excellent. There are a lot of local people who go often and the waitress know you by name. Great spot to unwind and have a great home cooked meal.

Joe's Coffee Shop is pretty close to home, and serves up great breakfast. They're priced just right and you definitely get your money's worth in the portions they serve up. Friendly staff, and a homey atmosphere.

Best Eggs you will have.

Breakfast is superb. Eggs cooked the way they are supposed to be, most places don't know how t prepare basted eggs, The best I've had in many years. The Waffle is very good as well. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Other than the coffee not being Starbucks it was outstanding.

Pros
+ Old Fashion Home Cooking

Cons
- It is a little worn.

Yummy Salads and Pies! by Perla L. at InsiderPages

Joe's is at Irving Blvd. now instead of 6th St. I don't go to this restaurant as often as I'd like, but am very satisfied everytime I do go. Best thing of the place are the pies. I've tasted the pineapple cream and have longed to have he peanut butter pie! Daily specials are delicious and come with your choice of 3 sides, giving you the option to make a slice of pie your 3rd side for a little extra charge. I've had their chicken salad expecting it to be below average, but was pleasantly surprised at what I go. The chicken was warm and golden, veggies were very fresh, and the dressing was delicious!

more than good java

This slice of Americana in the middle of Irving's Heritage District is a heckuva lot more than the name suggests. You can have the best breakfast in the DFW Metroplex for $3.80 (with eggs, biscuits, and Kansas City hashbrowns, embellished with bacon, green peppers, and onions), served by one of a crew of steel magnolias who'll call you "hon." They'll also make honest recommendations: "The chicken-fried steak is better'n the chicken-fried chicken today. 'Least, that's what I think." Leave room for a slice of the best pie (choices abound) since your grandma's. And the coffee's good, too.

Pros
+ food, service, ambience
