mostly good, but... by Bob H. at InsiderPages

Dr. Russell Krienke is a good, low-key doctor who actually takes time to listen to your issues and consider them all. He's also on time!

However, Dr. Carlos Romero, while he may be a decent doctor, is not a decent man. He contributed $5,000 to support Prop 8 IN CALIFORNIA! Why is someone who pledges to do no harm trying to mess with the lives of people whose marriage would in no way affect him?

The worst doctor I have ever been to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by m M. at InsiderPages

Dr. J. Nguyen, MD did not help me try and find a solution for my problem except quit my job. I had for 2 nights prior cried my self to sleep (witch took about 2.5 hours) from pain in my feet. The pain was from standing at my work place(i work 12 shifts). I had consulted a pharmacist and did what she said but it did not help. so after work i called the after hours clinic and drove to the doctors office. when he came into the room he looked tired and sickly. I tried to communicate my problem and He looked at me like i was speaking a different language. The tears coming out of my eyes should have been a clue. he said he did not know what was wrong and wrote me a script for arthritis medicine and a muscle relaxer that made me very very sick. when i called the doctor's office back i was told someone would call me back. 24 hours later no call and I found out he did not work there anyway(their words) the office gave me another number, and that office gave me another number, when i talked to a nurse 5 hours later and they wanted to prescribe me a med that was like Advil. i have been eating those like candy with no relief. do not go to this clinic or see this doctor.

Dr. Weeks Is the Best by Dwayne H. at InsiderPages

I am not a good patient and it is hard for me to visit them as frequently as I should. Dr. Weeks doesn't scold me but emphasizes that he wants to do the best job of caring for my health as he can and to do that he needs to see me on a regular basis.

He doesn't possess a superior attitude that mark many of his profession and when he says he cares about your health you can tell he really means it.

A great guy and a super doc!!!

Comprehensive, one-stop medical facility by Mark C. at InsiderPages

I needed to find a new primary physician after the doctor I had seen for seven years closed up shop, and a co-worker recommended David Weeks at the Austin Regional Clinic.

This is just about the most comprehensive medical facility (outside of a hospital) I've ever seen: the doctor, any x-rays, blood work, etc. can all be done inside one building.

The staff are really excellent at providing results and follow-up information for blood work, x-rays, and other tests.

Dr. Weeks is incredibly thorough -- and has an excellent beside manner. Even during the first visit, I felt like I'd known him for years! Even more, he's very pro-active about checking for things which could go wrong relative to the patient's medical and family history.

As an aside: I missed an appointment while we were moving, and when I realized what had happened Dr. Weeks got me in -- that afternoon!

I am very pleased with my experience with ARC and Dr. Weeks. I recommend them enthusiastically.

Not for me; maybe for you?

I had three heart-disease riskfactors: Im male, my father has heart-disease, my BP was 130/85. My cholesterol was tested during my first checkup at Dr. Weeks. Three days later the nurse called and told me my LDL was 130, my HDL was 37 and that I should come in to discuss "medication options". I was annoyed drugs were suggested so quickly and had to persuade Dr Weeks to agree to me trying nutritional and exercise changes. Two months later, after small changes in nutrition and exercise, my LDL decreased to 125, my HDL increased to 38, my BP was 121/80. My situation was improving. However, medication was again pushed. I felt drugs were the easy way out, but not the best route for my health. I dont want to be chronically medicated! Maybe I'm interpreting my progress optimistically, but I prefer doctors who push the best routes, not the easiest.

Pros
+ clear communicator

Nice group of doctors and staff by K P. at InsiderPages

This office has a great group of employees who have always been helpful and friendly. It would be nice if the wait wasn't so long but that is typical of most doctors office. The office is clean and parking is okay. The waiting room is always packed and then you get to wait some more in a private smaller waiting room. I have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance or any other billing type problems. The doctors are thorough and take their time when seeing you.

PROS: Great doctors
CONS: Long wait

Great Doctors here! by Kay A. at InsiderPages

My entire family go to Austin Regional Clinic. My daughter and son have been going since they were babies (almost 6 years). I never have trouble getting appointments for them. with their pediatrician. My husband and I have a harder time getting appointments for ourselves, but it's nice that we can get our children seen so quickly. I don't typically have to wait when taking my children, but when I go there is always a long wait. I have had to change my doctors several times because they keep moving to other offices or go to part time. The main beneift is they have Weekend hours. Who has a child that doesn't get sick on the weekend? Mine always do and waiting at the ER is no fun!

PROS: Weekend hours
CONS: Long wait for doctors

I would trust them with my life! by Albert W. at InsiderPages

Austin Regional Clinic is a network with some of the BEST Doctors. I've seen 3 or 4 before choosing my Family Doctor in this network. This main Clinic is open after hours and on weekends and boy does that come in handy when illnesses can't wait until monday. I've never seen a Doctor there that I wouldn't want to see again. They're caring, professionals not like some I've seen in the past. I would trust them in a life or death situation and that says ALOT.

PROS: Open after hours & on weekends until 9:00 p.m.
CONS: Busy but not like an emergency room.

Good, solid family care by Andrew B. at InsiderPages

I have seen several physicians at ARC for a host of normal ailments. My primary care physician is Dr. Janet Jewell, MD. She's nice, thorough and doesn't rush through the appointments. The ARC doctors seem concerned with the overall health of the patient, not just the problem at hand. I've not had a bad experience with ARC yet after several years of visits. I would recommend them to anyone looking for family medical care.

PROS: Great doctors. Thorough. Compassion for patients.
CONS: Like most Doctor's offices, the Doctors seem to run late frequently.

Avoid Dr. Claire Hebner!

We made an appointment to see a different doctor, we instead got in and saw Dr. Claire Hebner from the Leander Cedar park clinic. As soon as she came in, she made it clear we were wasting her time. She mentioned this is more of an urgent care clinic. Well apparently the doctor who recommended I bring my daughter in earlier thought it was important enough. I left disgusted and refused services. She was a plastic, spastic, ignorant twit, that was obviously clueless on how to treat my daughter so why try!!!! I pity the children that she may have as patients!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recommend that you find a doctor that cares, this woman did NOT!!!!

Pros
+ The staff is great. Except Dr. Hebner

Cons
- Dr. Hebner

a doctor without compassion is really no doctor at all

I have used ARC for years and at least once a quarter I am utterly disgusted by the lack of caring shown by the doctors and nurses. Out of the 8 different doctors I have seen between two of their locations, only 2 acted as if they really wanted to help resolve my medical issues. And it's impossible to get an appointment with the two good ones. So, to the other 6 doctors and their nurses--get over yourselves--you are not god, in fact you're more like demons. You make me even more sick than I already am.
