Kathie Hahn

kathie Hahn and Bird Paradise do sue their customers. When customers birds die or get sick they make excuses and threaten law suits then carry it out. They even take the bird back and claim they send them all the way back to "the breeder" (their Florida bird mill according to bird hell dot com) in SICK condition. Yeah right. Steer clear from this place. Their erratic and combative behavior is disgusting. Any "niceness" you see is phony in my opinon. Just wait till they decide to attack you.

Bird Paradise sues its customers and competitors. Kathie Hahn slanders and harasses people. Kathie Hahn interferes with competitors legal rights to conduct business. Bird Paradise filed nuisance suit attempting to settle for cash. Bird Paradise refused to cooperate with discovery and had to be compelled by the judge to answer questions and show vet records. They dismissed it when no payday came about and even their lawyer Deborah Plaia even stopped defending them after seeing the slanderous website "anonymously" put up against their Defendants. PATHETIC....

Lots of products by Amanda A. at InsiderPages

Wouldnt buy a bird from them. They dont seem to have enough time to spend with all of their birds and It is hard to pick any of them up...or keep them clean. I have been told innaccurate ages on their birds, as an 8 week old handfed weaned parrot should not be afraid to be held..or usually is not weaned at 8 weeks (and have been told the same exact bird is in the 8-14 week age range for over 6 months). Birds are kept in guinea pig cages around the register area. For giving the effect of the largest bird store in the world... they win it. But for having the sweetest, highest quality, good looking birds... they are far from it. You wont see anything like their bird display... but for finding a pet it's not the place. Product prices are high, however you cant find some of the products (toys) there anywhere else. Overall, it's a good day trip to see a bunch of birds... I would not purchase a bird from them....and will continue to purchase the hard to find products from this store.

I purchased A Blue mountain swainson lory from Bird Paradise 3 years ago and she is wonderful. The staff was very helpful and pleasant . I did have a medical problem with her and Kathy reinbursed my vet cost with no questions asked . My only complaint is the dna testing of my Lory. He was sexed a boy ,till she laided an egg this past July. When I am ready to buy another parrot it will definitely be at Bird Paradise

Amazing Store!

This is the best bird store around. HUGE selection of toys, playstands, cages, food, and more. I prefer to get birds from a small breeder and not a pet store, but the birds at this store are well cared for. They had many finches and other small untame birds housed in large flight cages, and the parrots and other tame birds come out onto playgyms. They had appropriate toys, perches, and diets.
They really try to educate prospective owners and not just sell them birds. They sometimes have parrot trainers and behaviorists come and do lectures and this is free to everyone, not just customers. You would pay $50 or more to hear some of these speakers at a seminar!
The store seems to have become a bit of a target for some animal rights extremists who don't believe in keeping pets (keeping birds as pets isn't cruel if you take decent care of them and treat them as one of the family. It's not perfect but nothing is - like in the wild where with starvation and predators, annual mortality is 30-50% on average. And most parrots kept as pets are of domsticated species like budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels, not 'wild' birds). I guess they targeted this store just because it is large? There certainly are plenty of stores that don't take great care of their birds, but this is one of the best ones and their selection of bird supplies at good prices makes it very worth shopping at even though I'm not looking to get another bird.

Great store, lots of birds and supplies by Karen Z. at InsiderPages

I stopped in this store when on vacation. I know of people who travel quite a ways just to visit this store. They have a HUGE selection of toys, food, playgyms, perches, and cages that are hard to find. The prices were mostly very good.
They also have lots of well-cared for birds. There are many small birds including canaries and many kinds of finches all in large flight cages. There are also many tame parrots, most friendly and interactive. Birds had plenty of toys and perches, good food, and seemed to be well socialized and handled - if I'd been looking for a bird, this seemed like a nice place to get one, if you can't find a local breeder.

Great place to buy a Parrot

I bought my 8 month old Ekkie (Eclectus) Sophie on the 5th of July 2008 and as far as I'm concerned, they are the only place to go for your next Parrot. Staff is fantastic, birds are fantastic and they have everything you could ever need at a reasonable price. We spent 5 hours there deciding on our Ekkie. They have this big room with a play area and couches so that you can sit with your chosen bird and get to know him/her before you make a decision. They even have a sitting area where you can make your own toys for your Parrot and they make this Ultimate Blend Parrot food that is simply awesome! If you are in the market for a feathered friend then these folks are the ones you need to meet.

Birds should not be in captivity

"Wild parrots are intensely social, unbelievably intelligent, and fly through the forests like swift arrows. Yet, thousands are now being bred for "pets". They are wild animals and do not deserve a life in captivity.

Most parrot guardians are not able to cope with the wild behaviors, such as biting and screaming. Very few will find a human prepared to devote even a few hours a day for 60 years or so.

Hundreds will end up in tiny cages, pathetic, miserable, crazy. Thousands if not millions will be euthanized. There is a desperate need for sanctuaries. And for a concerted effort to protect parrots in the wild where they belong." - Dr. Jane Goodall

Wonderful! Helpful! Knowledgeable! by susan l. at InsiderPages

New to the world of birds, I could not have found a better store.I purchased my first parrot (white bellied caique) in November and the staff was so helpful in the process of purchasing him. It can be a bit overwhelming for a first bird owner walking into such a huge place, but the staff is so helpful those feelings soon dissipate. They give you all the help and information you need to start your life with your new companion. But it doesn't stop there, you can always go back for services like wing clips, nail clips (at a nominal fee) and shop for every kind of food or toy available to birds! Or make your own toys in their toy room.

And while shopping or just coming into visit, the staff is always happy to answer any avian questions you may have.

The only problem you may encounter at Bird Paradise is that you just might become addicted to buying more parrots...but that could be a good thing!

The best exotic bird store in the state by Rachelle S. at InsiderPages

I am currently a customer at Bird Paradise and have been since they opened. In my opinion, they have the largest selection of exotic birds as well as bird products. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and is more than happy to help you with any questions and/or concerns you have. Prior to the opening of Bird Paradise, I was a customer at another local bird store for a long time. Since I have been a customer at Bird Paradise, no other store can come close to comparing in quality or selection. If you have never been to the store you should go just to experience the reason why I am a customer and always will be.

Awesome Bird Store by Stacey B. at InsiderPages

If you have a companion bird, or are thinking of possibly adding one to your family, a visit to Bird Paradise is a must.

They have many different breeds of birds, and the staff is very knowlegeable about the needs of each breed.

Their selection of food is the huge! If you are looking for a cage mix, cooked food or fruits and nuts, you won't be disappointed with their offering.

There is an area where you can make your own bird toys, or, you can choose from what seems like thousands of already made toys.

I travel about 45 minutes once or twice a month to shop there. They also have an online store, but it's just not the same as being there in person.

If you are interested in a GREAT, one-stop shop for all your bird's needs, Bird Paradise is the place to go!

The Best by Elizabeth C. at InsiderPages

The best staff, inventory, prices and information of any bird store I have ever been to. I am able to get everything I need for all my birds in this one store. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and will answer any questions or just leave you alone to wander and look around, visit with the many birds or even sit and make a custom toy. They have a large area with tables and the most toy making supplies I have ever found in a store.
Although we travel 50 miles to get there, we usually make the trip once or twice a month. I look forward to going every time. I have recommended Bird Paradise to many of my bird friends and have taken several people there. They have all become fans of the store.

Incredible people, Incredible Birds !!!!!!!!!!!!! by Nancy L. at InsiderPages

If you are looking to purchase a bird, buy toys, food, cages or just want to learn about birds Bird Paradise is where you want to go.Not only do they have a large selection of birds, but you should see their selection of toys and cages. Imagine any food your bird might like and they have it. The staff treats you as family, they explain everything you need to know about any type of bird you are interested in. And then help you with getting the right size cage, toys, and they give you a months worth of food free when you buy a bird.Need help with a bird that you didn't purchase there, they will help. I unfortunately didn't buy my first bird there. But that didn't matter to them, when it came to questions I had.My second bird was on consignment at Bird Paradise. They had a lot of information about her from the previous owner. As well as giving us information about the type of bird she was. And characteristics about that breed as well. They also test all of their birds for various diseases, as well as doing DNA testing so you know if you are getting a boy or girl.I will never go any where else to get my bird supplies, or if I decide in the future to get another bird it will come from Bird Paradise.

I had visited MANY other places that claim to be an dealer of birds and all they did was try to sell me the most expensive of everything including the bird..I had talked to a friend who purchased a Caique there and we fell in love with it, so we visited Bird Paradise and they spent close to 3 hours explaining all about the bird to me and my family. I have never owned a bird before and was a little nervous but they calmed all of us and educated us, the owner is very helpful as well as all the staff...VISIT and find out yourself....
