Great Food by Dylan H. at InsiderPages

Ideal grocery is a great little grocery store. If you love to cook or bake, Ideal is the place for you! I love the placement of the store and it is very easy to find. They have many great employees that are willing to help you out with what ever you need. Winston Beans, a cute little boy who works back in the meat department will do what every you want, just ask him.

Ideal! by Kendra D. at InsiderPages

I love Ideal! I come from a small town in colorado, and it almost feels like the family-owned grocery I knew growing up. The staff there always seems friendly and willing to help me find stuff I need. The greatest thing is that I can find gourmet, ethnic and vegetarian items that I enjoy but wouldn't be able to find at another small grocery. My only problem with this store is that the hours are inconvenient for my schedule.

European Style Gourmet Grocer by Thomas D. at InsiderPages

If you love to cook (or bake, or grill, or entertain, etc.) you'll love shopping at Ideal Grocery. The central location in Lincoln makes it easier to reach for most of the city's neighborhoods. Inside you'll find the unique, specialized, high quality, and finer foods not typical of the usual American grocer. They carry most of the usuals also - but if you're looking for the gourmet item - you'll likely find it here. If not, ask them and they'll get it for you. Superior service from the hello at the front door to the highly trained deli and meat market, to the produce man who sacks and weighs your selection, to the clerk who carries your purchases to your car. Their prices are slightly higher on the usuals - but the quality, the service, and the selection are worth every penny! Also, I've never stood in a checkout line deeper than two people...and I can't say that for the big chains. Ideal cares about customers!

Service by Nathan S. at InsiderPages

this small grocery offers a small selection of products generally at a higher price than your big chain supermarkets. but, it is family owned and has that personal feel to the place. They often offer certain hard to find products. Unfortunately their hours are not the best but again, that is part of being locally and personally owned. Their workers are very helpful.

PROS: personal feel
CONS: prices, selection, and hours are not the best.

Closest thing Lincoln has to a gourmet market. by Matt A. at InsiderPages

Ideal Grocery is an unassuming-looking building in south central Lincoln, but once you get inside you'll realize you're in for a treat. The low grocery shelves hold not only familiar brands but foods from around the world, and varieties of things you won't be likely to find at the local supermarket. The cookie aisle is a perennial favorite, boasting sweet treats from several European countries (and believe me, when you're hooked on a cookie you can only get in France, you're in trouble). The only downside is that you're going to pay a premium for the quality; Ideal is far from cheap. Still, if you're looking for an item you can't find anywhere else in town, give them a shot.

PROS: Amazing variety of high-quality foods.
CONS: Quality doesn't come cheap.
