Went there for an anniversary banquet and the decorations and the food were wonderful. The bartender was was a young Spanish guy that kept us entertained. He even bought us a few drinks. This is the first hotel bar that has really exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and our room (a jr suite with a corner view) was excellent. Our bed WAS triple sheeted and we found extra pillows and robes in the closet. The only downfall was room service which was rather pricey for the quality- while my husband's steak was good, my chicken pasta was horrible, the lemon sauce reminded me of lemon scented lysol! I made a reservation and specifically stated that we needed a suite. When I arrived there. the manager informed me that there were no Suites available. and that this hotel was for Business Class people only.and that the Suites are never used. Hello!! someone should have told me before we even went to this Hotel. can you imagine this cramped up Hotel room with 4 Ladies. Then amount of money that you on these rooms is not worth it. you can barely turn around in the Bathroom, the rooms smelled stale and the furniture and TV's are outdated. This being a special weekend, I decided to splurge and go to Omni. The difference - $65 I didn't need to spend. Both types of hotels are comprapal in cleanliness and service (although the cheap hotels don't lock you out at 6:45). But more importantly the bed at the Omni was as hard as a rock! The most important part of a hotel stay is how well you can sleep. Waking up sore and stiff is not my idea of a good night's sleep. Next, there was a charge to park the car and the garage was poorly marked. Our first desk person told us a kind bedroom was not available, only two doubles. (claims it was only a request as we booked online) I went to the car, to get my husband and when we returned, another person waited on us and was able to get a king room. I guess it depends on who waits on you as this was less than 5 minutes later. There is a supposed security system where you must use your room key to be able to select a floor to get to the rooms. I was not checked in yet and coming from the car lobby floor. I went immediatly to the 12th floor, where the car picked up passengers (so much for safety) We found the room small, but clean. The pool ridiculousy small without ample seating. No jacuzzi. The gym had inadequate equipment for a hotel that size and star rating. It was too warm in there, and you could not adjust the a/c. NO water available either. I have never been in a gym that does not offer water. Cheap machines too...weird elyptical-awkward position. Room service was OK. Watch for the 19% fee and delivery charge on top of the cost. The beds were comfy, although the bedspread, which was white should have been bright white, not greyish white. Overall, at most I would give is 3 stars. Several Hotel guests tell us they paid $80 as they were with a wedding party. The only reason I am going back is because they have a special rate for my customer's customer, but that's it. The "business center" is an almost hidden, small room with poor lighting and a pay as you go computer. If you want to connect your notebook, you pay. Want to use the computer, you pay. Want to just print something? $2 a page! This is by far the worst hotel Omni when it comes to friendliness towards business travelers. The room was mediocre, the bed was comfortable but the entire facility is showing its age and seems overdue for a renovation. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and refunded some charges that I thought were out of line. I complained to Omni and the hotel's manager called me at home in response, said he agreed with me and they were working to correct the issues.
