not found anyone better by Sally H. at InsiderPages

I've been going to massengills with my cars for all of my 12 years living in this area. I went on line to find their email address and saw this poor review and thought I would respond. They do not present themselves as a.c. experts. And there have been a few problems with my autos that have caused them to refer me elsewhere. This proves they don't try to fix problems outside of their expertise. They have maintained and repaired all 4 cars I've driven over the past 12 years. They are able to fix things readily, get needed parts, explain mechanical problems, and not over charge. Wayne, the owner, is fantastic. All of his employees have been great. I never hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Don't read this a.c. review and take it to mean they are incompetent. Far from it! I would not go anywhere else. Sally

Most Honest Service Available

While traveling out of state (from Florida), I experienced trouble with my truck. A policeman refered me to Massengill's. I called and they arranged for a tow truck to pick us up and be towed in for service. Their mechanics had my problem diagnosed and repaired within 90 minutes. They showed me the bad parts and explained what was the probable cause. My bill was very reasonable especially considering the time and effort put forth to ensure that my family and I felt comfortable as visitors. This auto center has a very comfortable and clean waiting area complete with satellite television. My daughter was even able to connect wirelessly to the internet. Thanks to Wayne and his crew, we were able to continue our trip to Richmond, VA safely. I cannot possibly give this business any higher praise. Thank you!

Pros
+ Customer Service, Real Honesty.

Cons
- None

Most honest people in the auto repair business

These guys are very good at what they do. Prices are fair and they only sell you what you need. Shop is clean and well organized. Nice waiting area with magazines, TV and wireless internet too. They tell you what work you need now and what can wait. The whole shop is an open view where you can see your car. Anytime I want to see my parts they show them to me and tell me what failed or is about to fail. They even give my senior mother a discount. I have been trusting these guys with my cars for over 16 years. They have a great family environment.

Pros
+ Always honest

Cons
- Sometimes gets backed up with work

Inaccurate quotes

We went there once and will never go back again. Lengthy waiting time even though we made an appointment. The waiting room was messy and old fashioned. Can't see your car while they do their job- very unsecured. Worst of all, they were not telling what's exactly wrong with your car. For example, how much damaged is your part or how much more mileage put to be concerned. They only revealed that some parts need to be changed and quoted roaring prices! I hate to be fooled like this.

Cons
- You can hardly see what they do with your car

I won't go back by Kimberly N. at InsiderPages

Back in the day, I drove my fair share of clunkers. One of them was a Ford Escort with well over 100,000 miles on it. The engine belt broke -- Massengill's fixed it without fuss, and not overly expensively. I thought I'd found a great local mechanic.
Until I brought my next car to them with an air conditioning problem. I noticed the switch had to be turned on several times to get the system to work and eventually the switch stopped working. I brought it in, they told me to replace it and it would fix the problem. Nope. A few weeks later I had to bring it back because the a/c again wasn't working. What I believed happened is that they only diagnosed half of it. They just said that the switch was working, sent me on, and it took me half a dozen more mechanics to find out the whole problem. I wish they had stood by the problem, worked with me to find out the real answer, rather than trying to shoo me away. Otherwise, the location is a pain to get to, and they weren't helpful with rides or loaner cars like some local automotive businesses offer.
