We had a wonderful person helping us and the bridesmaid dresses as well as the wedding dress came out beautiful. I don't understand how someone could have such an unpleasant experience at this store, unless you never really went there. My daughter was open to suggestions and would have never tried on the dress that they suggested, but ended up purchasing the one they suggested. It was beautiful on her!! Each bride is very special to them. Yes, they do not take credit cards, but if you know that in advance, it is really not an issue.They have jewelry there you can also purchase to make your day just perfect!! I wasn't planning on purchasing anything because of the bad things I had heard, but I left wanting to spread the word about how horrible my experience was! I didn't give much heed to some of the online reviews because I know good experiences tend to go unnoticed, but wow was this place horrible. My first sign that the experience was going to be bad came before even arriving at the store due to a phone call. Shortly after arrival, the woman was outwardly annoyed at the fact that my mom and maid of honor were looking at the bridesmaids dresses while she was wanting us to focus solely on the bridal gowns. She repeatedly tried to tell them that they should not bother with the bridesmaid dresses yet and let her help them when she was done helping me. They were simply browsing and did not require help, but she was so insistent that it made me immediately uncomfortable. I am not the type who wants a lot of attention and am not picky but left so offended and annoyed. The woman who helped us, who I can tell must be the owner based on the descriptions I read by other brides, was incredibly rude. I felt like I was unable to tell her that I didn't like a dress because she was so intimidating. She was very condescending, and the people I was with told me afterwards that she was rolling her eyes at me when I would mention not liking a feature of a dress. She was EXTREMELY forceful and tried to push a variety of things on me despite me specifically telling her I did not want them. I told her I didn't want a veil and she stuck one on my head repeatedly. I could not wait to leave in the end and will most certainly never return. I also wanted to help my daughter who was in college at the time, by looking at the bridesmaid dresses on display. When I arrived and told them my circumstance I was invited to view all the dresses - which was a substantial number and organized by color which I found very helpful. In the end, the saleslady gave me her business card and suggested that my daughter make an appointment with her but did nothing to find out anything about me or my daughter's wedding date or special needs. She did not take my name, my daughter's name or phone number to reach either of us. My daughter did call and make an appointment, but unfortunately arrived late due to traffic conditions. She had, however, called to apologize and said she would be late. Upon arrival with two of her bridesmaids there were no introductions by any of the staff, no information gathering about her wedding and really no personal attention by anyone. The girls were put into a small room with a small mirror and told to select dresses themselves to try on. There was really no guidance from any of the sales people. This was an extremely disappointing experience. Because of the lack of personal attention by all of the staff at the Bridal Mansion I would undeniably suggest to anyone getting married to shop elsewhere. The dresses not only did not come in on time but the shop did not call to say when they had finally arrived. When I called to make an appointment (because they will only see you by appointment), they informed me that I could not set up any of my requested days and times (I actually gave them a choice!) because they closed early often. The rudeness too! While the bride and I were discussing options of overnight shipping dresses, the sales lady actually commented on how expensive that would be.... ahhhhh - if they had come in on time that would not have been an expense!! They finally arrived 3 weeks prior, and still had to be altered. And to make matters worse when I went to pick them up so I could overnight them to my out of state bridesmaids they did not answer their phone at 5pm, and they were already closed at 6:30pm when I got there, even though the door clearly said they were open until 9:00pm. Not only was the staff rude to me when I was in the store, but they are rude to me everytime I call and am lucky enough to get a real person. Then there you can not use a credit card, you must use a cash or check. They do not want to pay the extra $'s for credit card use for customers. After the way she asked me about the price of the dress, I filled out the paper work and never came back. I bought my dress somewhere else and did save money not buying it from there. You can barely see the dresses there, they are jam packed on a rack in a plastic bag so it's impossible to really view the dresses like you really would like unless you pulled them all out. Normally dress shops will try to get you to order a size bigger to get alteration money from you but this place takes it to an extreme. Also my dress was not cleaned before I picked it up, the day before the wedding. I would suggest telling them your wedding is a month earlier than it really is just in case you have to get it cleaned. Whatever you do DO NOT BY BRIDESMAID DRESSES from this place. I had 9 bridesmaids ranging from size 6 to 26. All the girls bigger than a size 12 had to have the dresses taken in at least 3 sizes while the girls under a size twelve had to let them out 2 sizes. I understand weight can vary over time, but 6 out of the 9 bridesmaids had to have the dresses remade because it was cheaper than the alterations would have been. None of the girls lost, or gained this much weight in that time period.
