Tasty Asian in TriBeCa!

So last Saturday night, needing to get dinner before a show, and wanting just to get out of the rain, I quasi-stumbled into Your Asian on Chambers Street. (Your Asian...what? i didn't get it at first. Oh, Your Asian like "Eurasian!" FR.OG in SoHo---don't worry, you STILL have the worst restaurant name in NYC! Barely...) This place has been open for just a little while. No publicity. If I didn't live nearby, I might not have known about it, although you can't miss that sign! Anyway, I have to admit I was very surprised! It's a beautiful interior, first of all. Very clean and colorful. And the food is outstanding! I had a tasty duck salad with mango and hicama and only 6 bucks! My main course was codfish wrapped in banana leaf with chiles and coconut milk. Delicious and again, cheap--only 12 bucks. The food was so good that i wondered how long before they'd raise the prices. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday night and, for better or worse, there were a few children around. The service was a little spotty but friendly. I had what I think was the oldest waiter in New York not at Peter Lugar's. Your Asian is nice middle ground. NYC seems to have either those "authentic" Chinese restaurants in Chinatown that force you to suspend belief in regards to their ingredients and cleanliness. And then you have those massive, superexpensive places like Chinatown Brasserie, Morimoto, Buddakan, Megu that may deliver, but they also overwhelm. YourAsian gives you great flavor for your buck. There are some great restaurants in TriBeCa, but the owners have located in a stretch of Chambers Street that can be best described as "uncharted territory." Let's just say they are pioneers; Your Asian's food is actually worth the short trek.

Pros
+ tasty tasty food, decor, superb value, family-friendly

Cons
- slightly slow service

Tribeca and Battery Park people - Don't Miss This One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was walking with friends in the neighborhood and we came across Yourasian. Great place. The atmosphere is perfect and the place is so clean. The staff is awesome and the owners are the nicest people. They make sure you are enjoying yourselves. But the best part is the food. We had a bunch of appetizers and split a few entrees. The beef satay is to die for. The green curry rice with chicken was outrageous. Everything has it's own flavor and the presentation was nice. The prices were perfect considering the economy we are in. So don't pass this up folks. This is a keeper.
