I like Versailles a lot, but this place is a good alternative for slightly cheaper, and without having to deal with crowds and the wack parking situation in front of the Versailles in Venice. I ordered the Cuban pulled pork and thought it was good, not as great as I had hoped. Still, the service was attentive, quick and the prices are right. I have passed by it for years, but the location is really tucked away, and I never noticed it until I smelled the food as I walked by on the way to Big 5. The food was very good. Good black beans and rice. The pricing and the portions were reasonable as well. There are two exterior tables, but you have to get there early to get one. The restaurant is open until 10PM and seems to get a rush around 9 or so. I'll be back soon. Definitely authentic and the food was delicious, I ordered the ropa vieja(shredded beef) and it came with white rice, black beans and plantains, aslo added a flan for desert. I'm not big on black beans and usually wont bother finishing them but at this place they were great! plantains are thee best, they are whole not slices like usual and have a perfect glaze to them. The beef was pretty good and not to rich or full of vegetables and very tender. Overall I recommend this restaurant because the food is good and not pricey and because Im going back to get some good looking sea food dishes I seen and take it home for the family, I'll make sure to let you know how it is too. Food was great, portions were large, and prices were moderate. BUT the service was the pits. It took 45 MINUTES from the time the waitress to our order to get served. Worse, no apologies from the waitress. The cook may have screwed up, but it's HER job to keep an eye on our order. Hence the low rating.
